Apollo Hospitals has introduced a broad framework called 'The Pink Book' to strengthen safety protocols in healthcare systems.

As per a press release, the book outlines protocols aimed at protecting the well-being of staff, patients, and visitors.

During the book launch, Sangita Reddy, who collaborated with the managing director of Apollo Hospitals, highlighted the increasing necessity for a robust safety framework in healthcare. She stated that the book encompasses the knowledge gathered during their journey and is intended to benefit everyone in the healthcare sector. "This goes beyond being a safety guideline; it represents our commitment to fairness and improvement of the healthcare environment," she explained.

The book underscores the significance of thorough safety measures, especially for women, by detailing stringent government regulations and the imperative for hospitals to adhere to safety policies, including a zero-tolerance policy against harassment. The primary recommendations include identifying and managing high-risk patients, bolstering security with panic buttons and surveillance, ensuring well-lit ergonomic workspaces, and offering support for night shift staff. It also advocates for self-defense training, mental health support, compliance with legal provisions, and establishing avenues for reporting safety concerns in accordance with the PoSH Act - Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, as per the release.
